Hi everyone! First of all thanks for reading this... I never ever ever imagined myself having a blog... or even an Instagram account for my work, for that matter! But, here I am... about 6 months into publicizing all of my art (well, calligraphy, lettering and paper crafts.. anyway), and I am FLOORED at the amount of positive feedback I have gotten. I got so busy, so quick, that I totally ran out of the time I wanted to spend starting this blog. So I am finally MAKING the time.
Anyway, moral of the story is that I thought it was about time I introduced myself. Until now, the only photo most of you have actually seen of me is on the front page of this website and the top left corner of my Instagram. So here you go!
I think I'll just list random facts about me. That'll be the least boring.
-My name is Becca, well, really it's REbecca, but most people call me Becca, or Bec.
-I am absolutely obsessed with all things calligraphy, lettering or just plain old crafty. I'm that person who can't spend less than an hour in an art store, because I have to see every. single. thing they have. Just ask my poor boyfriend.
-I am NOT a full-time "crafter" or calligrapher. Although I really wish I was.
-I live in Ottawa, Ontario and I travel a lot for my "real" job.
-I have the worlds best dog (I swear she liked the kiss in that pic- I wasn't strangling her as it appears) named Darby, shes a Labradoodle and she rings a bell to go outside for a pee (among other things...)
-I grew up playing hockey with boys, and I still do (well, now they're men). These days I play on a couple women's teams, too.
-I really like all sports, and fitness activities, but I'm finding myself with less and less time to do them since I started this crafty second job of mine.
-I really, really like puns and "dad jokes". My friends do not. I tell them anyway. Send me a bad joke I haven't yet heard and we will be lifelong friends.
I think that'll be enough of an introduction for now, and I promise it's the most I'm ever going to talk about myself on this blog! Sorta felt like what I think filling out an online dating profile would feel like... So I guess swipe right (or is it left, for "yes"?) and stay tuned to this blog for some actual calligraphy/lettering/crafting tips to come! (That was a Tinder joke- look it up).
So I'll leave you with this: if you're reading this and you're interested in calligraphy/lettering/crafts- what can I show you on this blog that you'd love to know about?
Oh and also- check out the @letterarchive initiative on Instagram... it starts on April 1st and is going to be AWESOME!
